For accommodations, we suggest the rental units at Cottages by the Sea, where most activities will be initiated. The Cottages are right on the beach, facing west into spectacular sunsets, and near a the small historic town of Frederiksted which is local in culture, mixed with a bit of tourism.  Cottages by the Sea is a friendly family run place with only 17 or so units, and some units have already been rented for the March 2008. Cottages by the Sea recently let us know that their units are renting sooner than usual, so anyone wishing to reserve accommodations should do so as early as possible. They appear to have a convenient cancellation policy. So it may be possible to make a reservation to hold a rental unit while your application is processed and registration accepted. (For your own sake, do not make any non-refundable expenses/commitments until your application is approved and donation accepted.)  The Cottage units have kitchenettes, some are multi-room suites, and the less expensive ones range $155 to $175. plus tax. Others are up to $190 or so. A new hotel style room ("Chocolate") is available at lower cost, without a fully furnished kitchen. There is (usually) a seaside restaurant in the small hotel/cottage complex next door (the "Beachside Café" at Sand Castle on the Beach). So if you wish to reserve a cottage, please do so directly. We will not make reservations or other travel arrangements for participants (and the information we have volunteered here is, of course, subject to change by Cottages by the Sea and the other rental unit owners and unintentional error). The recently renovated apartments are in a lovely natural setting on a hill above Dorsch Beach, and possibly a less expensive alternative, yet also with kitchen facilities, private baths and other amenities.
