Annual Meditation Retreat -- March 2011
on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands

We have planned an extended meditation retreat on the island of St. Croix, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, during the beginning of March, which can include individualized participation by you and others. The retreat is designed mainly for those who have some meditation experience, and wish to enhance and deepen their inner work with meditation practice with other meditators in a magnificent natural setting. One theme will be integration of meditation focus with daily living. There may also be a limited number of presentation(s) for beginners, if there is sufficient interest.

Various meditation forms can be included - sitting, walking, chanting, musical mindfulness, mindful movement exercises, awareness practices and more - with emphasis on universal principles behind different meditation forms. We will be nourished by the energy and ambience of the surrounding sea, adjacent national wildlife sanctuary, spectacular sunsets, tropical flora and fauna, refreshing sensual breezes and other natural beauties of the Caribbean island.

Among the group activities possible are periods of silent practices, guided practices, conceptual discussion and sharing, and some shared meals.

The facilitators, Dominic Chielli and/or Joanna Schlesinger, will lead activities with possible guest facilitators at times. Donations will be requested, payable to "Summa Foundation for Mindful Living" in advance, and nonrefundable since enrollment will be limited.

Participants will select and make all accommodations and travel arrangements, etc. directly themselves, as well as pay for any out-of-pocket costs for activities (such as food expenses for meals together whether in restaurants or prepared together). Participants will pay directly for all such costs as incurred, in addition to the advance donation to Summa Foundation. We may provide guidance toward what we feel are attractive, reasonable choices but participants are strictly responsible for their own choices, expenses and arrangements.
